Statement of Purpose
This site was started by Wauquiez owners interested in increasing the "discoverability" of information valuable to those interested in Wauquiez sailing yachts. We don't want to duplicate or replace existing resources, just create a central index to all of the varied stuff that already exists. Patrick James, owner of Pretorien #169 "Aeolus", administers this site as well as the Google Group.
The site's purpose is to provide a consolidated set of summary information and links out to important resources such as:
- The Wauquiez Owners Google Group with over 300 members. If you are looking at this website and wondering "where's the beef?", it is all on the Google Group. Join up!
- Schedule and location for Wauquiez Owners Rendezvous
- Links to owner blogs and other sites of interest to the Wauquiez community

Future to-do's, which may or may not ever get done, are summaries of frequently discussed questions from the mailing list, and for sale listings. I am open to suggestions for other items.
Helping Out
Do you want to help out with the site? Cool. It was just migrated to a format where it is all static html files. This will make it easier to host with less maintenance going forward.
The site is currently generated from markdown files (one file per page) using the Pelican static site generating software. Very simple for a very simple website. It is hosted on a free plan at Netlify. Adding a page can be as easy as emailing a markdown file to me. Maybe you have a passion for this stuff or a vision for the future of our little bastion on the web...I would be happy to pass the baton if someone wanted to take over the site, or co-manage it for a few years of transition.
If you would like to make a contribution to the site's content, get in touch. Maybe you can be the one to summarize past discussions of chainplates, dyneema standing rigging, metric rigging supplies, and old vs. new Wauquiez construction :)
